Whilst we are waiting for the full brunt of summer to hit us, here is a label that we hope to see African fashion fiends based in the northern hemisphere will be wearing this fall of 2014. Maki Oh is a label by Nigerian designer Maki Osakwe whose design ethos it to “challenge prevailing notions of beauty”. Her designs are multifaceted and meaningful, inspired by an inner dialogue that reaches out to work and rework traditional Nigerian fabrics, production techniques and architecture.
